Job summary

Switch is seeking a Senior Controls Design Engineer to lead the design, review, and standardization of EPMS and BMS control systems across hyperscale data center projects. You will partner with consultants, vendors, and internal teams to improve performance and operational readiness.

You’ll oversee sequences of operation, drive standardization, and mentor engineers while advancing large-scale chiller plant controls and system integration across programs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in controls design, BAS/BMS, EPMS, or mission-critical environments
• Advanced knowledge of EPMS and BMS platforms
• Experience with HVAC controls and mission-critical infrastructure
• Experience developing and reviewing sequences of operation for complex facilities
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, power monitoring, and controls integration
• Experience managing external design consultants and multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Lead EPMS and BMS controls design across hyperscale data center projects
• Review controls designs at milestones (30%, 60%, 90%, IFP, IFC)
• Resolve design issues and close review comments
• Develop and maintain Division 25 documentation and controls standards
• Lead development of sequences of operation for mechanical and electrical systems
• Support design of large-scale chiller plant controls and sequencing
• Coordinate with consultants, vendors, and internal teams
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance
• Develop controls standards, specs, and Basis of Design documentation
• Evaluate emerging controls technologies and programming approaches
• Conduct site assessments and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, schedule, and reliability
