Job summary

MCA - Alpolic in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Sr. Engineer, Controls and Automation to lead electrical power, controls, OT, and SCADA efforts in a continuous manufacturing environment.

The role partners with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, IT, and vendors to troubleshoot, design upgrades, secure OT networks, and sustain MCU and SCADA platforms. Requires strong PLC/HMI, network, and cybersecurity experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 5+ years in electrical/controls/OT in manufacturing.
• Experience leading SCADA/OT network design, cybersecurity coordination, and PLC/HMI upgrades.
• Strong knowledge of industrial Ethernet, switches, and IT/OT governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level plant engineering leadership for electrical power, controls, and OT/SCADA.
• Upgrades, commissioning, and migration planning for control systems and networks.
• Develop and support OT network architecture, cybersecurity measures, and vendor coordination.
• Maintain documentation, backups, and recoverability of PLC/HMI/configurations.
• Lead reliability improvements and support plant-wide asset availability and safety standards.
