Job summary
MCA - Alpolic is seeking a Sr. Engineer, Controls and Automation in Chesapeake, VA to lead electrical, controls, and OT initiatives in a continuous manufacturing setting.
The role partners with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, HSE, IT, and vendors to troubleshoot, upgrade, and secure plant OT networks while ensuring documentation and recoverability of systems. Responsibilities include leading OT SCADA design, migration planning, and reliability improvements; maintaining system backups; and
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
- Five+ years of progressively responsible electrical, controls, automation, OT, SCADA, or plant engineering experience.
Responsibilities
- Design, specify, modify, and support industrial electrical and control systems.
- Develop narratives, I/O lists, panel layouts, schematics, and BOMs.
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC/HMI platforms (Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens).
- Maintain backups of configurations and manage access control.
- Lead OT network infrastructure for SCADA and IT/OT coordination.
- Plan cutovers, migrations, and commissioning activities.
