Job summary

United Launch Alliance seeks a Controls & Automation Engineer 3 to join the Engineering and Infrastructure team. The role focuses on designing, operating, and maintaining ground ECS systems to support launch vehicle operations.

You will work with DCS, PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA, creating design packages and leading project implementations while engaging with customers and suppliers. US Persons per ITAR apply; relocation/benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited college or university.
• Experience with industrial automation: DCS, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA.
• Experience with digital/analog I/O control and PID tuning.
• DCS/PLC communication: Modbus, IP/TCP.
• Windows OS administration and security basics.

Responsibilities

• Design, operate, and maintain environmental control systems for launch vehicle operations.
• Support DCS/PLC/HMI configuration and maintenance for ECS/HVAC.
• Create design packages, P&IDs, and engineering docs for new controls projects.
• Lead project implementations including contractor coordination and scheduling.
• Support mission testing, launch processing milestones, and operations.
