Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Lead Controller to manage U.S. and Mexico accounting for a private equity-backed sports apparel manufacturer in Irvine, CA. This director-level role offers ownership of financial reporting, inventory, and cash-flow analyses with direct CFO partnership and a potential path to VP.

You will supervise accounting teams across two countries, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, and drive process improvements during a turnaround, with a bonus opportunity and management incentive plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and technical accounting skills.
• Experience leading accounting teams and working with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting for U.S. and Mexico operations.
• Prepare and review financial statements, bank reconciliations, and cash flow analyses.
• Oversee physical inventory accuracy and counts with Mexico team.
• Review and consolidate cost accounting information for CFO and PE sponsor.
• Lead accounting teams across both countries, including AP/AR managers.
• Oversee payroll, taxes, and benefits accounting; liaise with external audits.
