Job summary

AidKit, a fully remote US-based company with a Colorado connection, seeks a Controller to lead accounting, treasury, and financial controls. You will own the close, reconciliations, revenue, AR/AP, and program funds while ensuring audit readiness and scalable processes.

In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with the CEO and a fractional CFO to deliver accurate financials, automate workflows, and strengthen compliance across multiple programs and payment partners.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly and annual financial close process along with subsidiary ledgers.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded and classified.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and schedules.
• Own revenue accounting and ensure revenue schedules tie to contracts, activity, and source systems.
• Review financial statements for completeness and accuracy before close.
• Identify and resolve accounting issues before post-close adjustments.
• Establish reconciliation standards, schedules, and exception-management processes.
• Ensure bank accounts reconcile to the general ledger.
• Reconcile program funds, AR, and AP sub-ledgers.
• Investigate aged reconciling items and drive them to resolution.
• Build controls to identify discrepancies quickly.
• Maintain billing schedules based on contracts and milestones.
• Bill customers and follow up collections; align with ASC 606.
• Reconcile AR aging and resolve discrepancies.
• Improve AR visibility and automate workflows.
• Prepare vendor records and bills with payments under controls.
• Collaborate with People Operations on Ramp cards and expense coding.
• Ensure expenditures are authorized and recorded.
• Maintain AP cutoff and expense accrual processes.
• Improve recurring AP and expense workflows.
• Maintain visibility into program funds from receipt to disbursement; ensure readiness.
• Verify funding readiness and administer fund anticipation.
• Close out programs with final reconciliations and partner reports.
• Coordinate with Program Management on funding needs.
• Oversee cash and banking operations; manage accounts and access.
• Execute transfers across rails and update logs; maintain cash controls.
• Provide cash and working-capital information to CEO and fractional CFO.
• Own accounting controls and documentation; audit readiness.
