Job summary

Klein & Hoffman is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead daily accounting, drive financial planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. You will report to the President and guide a small accounting team with direct influence on firm-wide financial policy.

Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is highly preferred, including project accounting and financial reporting. You will implement controls, train staff, and present results to the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Deltek Vantagepoint; experience with Deltek Vision considered.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and ensuring policies and procedures are in place.
• Oversees invoicing, accounts payable, expense reporting, timesheet processing, and project setup and review processes.
• Responsible for all aspects of monthly financial close and preparation of monthly financial reports for leadership.
• Monitors cash flow analysis and projections, coordinating disbursements and cash collection processes.
• Oversees onboarding training for time tracking, project reporting and related processes for project managers and staff.
• Oversees payroll administration and coordination with HR and payroll systems.
• Prepares budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
• Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions.
• Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
• Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Monitors key financial performance metrics including revenue, project profitability, utilization, and backlog.
