Job summary

UHM Properties is seeking a senior Controller to lead accounting across its diverse real estate portfolio. You will supervise the accounting team, ensure GAAP compliance, and coordinate financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires deep knowledge of affordable housing funding programs (HUD/LIHTC) and proficiency in Onesite/RealPage software, with collaboration across property management, development, and asset management teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in affordable housing, real estate, or nonprofit finance.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and compliance with HUD, LIHTC, and other affordable housing regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations across the organization’s Real Estate portfolio.
• Prepare and review timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal stakeholders, investors, lenders, and regulators.
• Maintain compliance with affordable housing program requirements including HUD and LIHTC.
• Ensure accurate data using Onesite/RealPage and collaboration with management teams.
• Provide financial analysis, forecasting, and insights to support decisions.
• Assist the CFO in maintaining internal controls and compliance.
