Job summary

Crebird in Texas is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead the accounting function across multiple affiliated entities, ensuring accurate, timely GAAP financial statements and strong internal controls.

You will supervise the accounting team, manage month-end close, audits, budgeting, and forecasting, and partner with department leaders to support strategic initiatives. This role offers a competitive compensation package and a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA designation preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership.
• Experience leading accounting teams.
• GAAP knowledge and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with month-end close, audits, budgeting.
• Advanced Excel and ERP/accounting systems proficiency.
• Experience in lending/financial services is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations across multiple affiliated entities.
• Supervise and develop the accounting team (AP, AR, staff).
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
• Ensure timely and accurate GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Maintain the general ledger and reconciliations.
• Develop internal controls and accounting policies.
• Coordinate annual audits with external auditors.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Monitor cash management and treasury functions.
• Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.
• Identify automation and process improvements.
• Partner with department leaders for financial guidance.
• Support CFO with strategic initiatives.
