Job summary

Cypress Healthcare Partners, LLC in Monterey, California, seeks a hands-on Controller to lead its Accounting Department of 8–10 staff. The role is responsible for month-end close, financial reporting, budgets, internal controls and audit support in a multi-entity environment.

The Controller reports to the Senior Vice President and collaborates with the Principals, serving as the accounting face to clients and leadership. Onsite work with a focus on accuracy and process improvement is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience including staff development.
• Strong GAAP foundation and hands-on month-end close and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated multi-entity accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with mid-market ERP systems (Sage 100).

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close calendar for Cypress and all client entities; prepare journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements to Cypress and clients on schedule.
• Oversee physician/provider compensation accruals and client receivables reserves.
• Develop and maintain SOPs; support internal controls and audit readiness.
• Lead payroll accounting coordination with HR and automation initiatives.
