Job summary

Cypress Healthcare Partners, LLC, based in Monterey, CA, seeks a hands-on Controller to lead its Accounting Department of 8–10 staff. The Controller is the senior accounting professional responsible for timely monthly statements, budgets, internal controls, and client reporting.

This onsite, full-time role requires a proactive leader who will perform a substantial portion of the work, including month-end close, reconciliations, accruals and audit support, while partnering with Cypress leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• 10+ years progressive accounting experience including staff development.
• Strong GAAP foundation with month-end close, reconciliations and audits.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills and data tools.
• Experience with mid-market ERP/accounting systems (Sage 100 or similar).

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close calendar and prepare journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements to Cypress and clients.
• Present results to client executives and finance leaders.
• Lead annual budgeting and variance analysis.
• Oversee internal controls, cash management and audits.
• Oversee payroll accounting and automation initiatives.
