Job summary

Mile Marker seeks a Senior Director, Controller to lead financial reporting, close processes, and internal controls in a fast-paced agency. This role partners with the CFO and lenders, driving accurate accounting and scalable processes to support growth and potential M&A activity.

You will manage GAAP compliance (ASC 606), treasury and PE reporting while building a high-performing team and ensuring timely, transparent financial narratives for the board and investors.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
• Deep GAAP knowledge with ASC 606 and project-based accounting.
• Experience in private-equity-backed environments, covenant reporting, and PE/portfolio reporting.
• M&A diligence, purchase accounting, and post-close integration experience.
• Strong treasury and cash management, including forecasting and working capital optimization.
• Proven ability to lead accounting teams and develop staff; strong systems acumen.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process with fast, clean, well-documented reconciliations.
• Oversee GL accounting, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations; manage revenue recognition (ASC 606).
• Lead controls, audit, and compliance including SOX-lite; coordinate external audits.
• Own treasury, cash controls, 13-week cash forecasting, and banking relationships.
• Manage working capital across AR, AP, and WIP; covenant reporting and lender communications.
• Drive M&A diligence, data room prep, PPA, and opening balance sheet setup; integration planning.
• Develop and maintain the finance systems environment (ERP, WorkBook, Ramp); mentor accounting team.
