Job summary

The Reading Group (TRG) in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking an experienced Sr. Controller to lead our financial operations. Reporting to ownership, you will serve as the executive bridge between finance and operations, guiding cash forecasting, budgeting, and internal controls.

You will partner with the Controller, CPA advisors, and cross‑functional teams to optimize working capital, multi‑entity accounting, and monthly closes, fostering GAAP compliance and strategic financial leadership.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field.
• CPA or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in small-to-midsized businesses.
• Experience in multi-entity environments (Retail, Wholesale, Distribution, or CRE preferred).
• Strong cash flow modeling, budgeting, and financial reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Cash flow forecasting and working capital optimization across units.
• Oversee annual budgeting and monthly financial metrics for Ownership.
• Maintain procurement policies, PO limits, and expense controls.
• Provide strategic oversight of AR, AP, inventory, and cash-based accounting.
• Mentor Controller to ensure GAAP compliance and monthly closes.
• Improve shared service workflows across entities.
