Job summary

Methanex Geismar is seeking a Control Systems Lead to direct the Control Systems team across all three Geismar plants. You will guide instrumentation, DCS, SIS, and electrical controls, manage plant change requests, and ensure safe, cost-effective execution aligned with Methanex standards.

Lead the team in outages, turnarounds, and continuous improvement while maintaining technical governance, cybersecurity, and documentation control, reporting to the Technical Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required; Chemical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 10+ years experience in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or Instrumentation/Control Systems Engineering (DCS) in Oil&Gas, Refining and/or Petrochemical industries.
• 5+ years proven leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of DCS/SIS, PLCs and process control standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, quality, cost and schedule targets for all assigned DCS OPEX projects and modifications.
• Provide expert guidance on configurable control systems within Methanex USA.
• Advise I&E Supervisors and Operations on I&E systems.
• Ensure plant modifications comply with MOC standards and regulations.
• Oversee DCS drawings/documentation control and change management.
• Lead Capex and Opex control systems projects from design to startup.
• Support capital projects with engineering and commissioning expertise.
• Mentor and develop Control Systems team members.
