North Wind in St Paul, MN is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to lead the design and drafting of electrical equipment, wiring and control systems for wind tunnel and hypersonic ground test projects. The role involves collaborating with engineers, releasing drawings, and supporting field installations.

You will coordinate hardware selection, manage bills of materials, and mentor junior designers while balancing schedule and budget to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an accredited institution.
• 8+ years of practical drafting experience in wiring, electronics, data acquisition systems.
• US Citizenship is required due to security requirements.
• Combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (<15%).

Responsabilités

• Design electrical and facility-integrated systems for wind tunnel and hypersonic ground test projects.
• Organize CAD drawings and bills of material per procedures.
• Research and specify hardware with vendors and suppliers.
• Release bills of material and drawings to downstream departments.
• Support procurement, production, and installation teams during issues.
• Provide labor and schedule estimates within budget and scope.
• Perform field installation, checkout, testing, and as-built documentation.
• Mentor junior designers and interns.
