Job summary

Linde Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Advanced Control Systems Engineer to support world-scale air separation facilities.

You will drive reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of control system infrastructure and field instrumentation, providing hands-on leadership for hardware, software, and networks. The role requires 5–7 years in process control, automation, or instrumentation, with experience in PLC-based systems, control networks, and P&ID interpretation.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in process control, automation, instrumentation, or industrial networking.
• Experience with industrial automation networks, including networking protocols, switches, and systems.
• Experience supporting PLC-based control systems in real-time production environments with advanced troubleshooting of process control and automation systems.
• Knowledge of air separation or related industrial gas processes (preferred).
• Familiarity with LAN/WAN infrastructure and highly available networks with redundant processors (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Support process control, automation, instrumentation, and industrial networking systems across world-scale air separation facilities.
• Ensure reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of control system infrastructure and field instrumentation.
• Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for control system hardware, software, industrial networks, and instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot control and automation issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Manage alarm systems and support preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Execute small-scale engineering projects from concept and design through implementation and commissioning.
• Develop and improve control system applications, standards, and best practices.
• Provide training and technical support to operations and maintenance personnel.
• Support high-availability systems, including redundant controllers, networks, and remote I/O architectures.
