Job summary

Linde Engineering North America LLC is seeking a Lead Control Systems Engineer to design, develop, and execute control systems for large industrial facilities in The Woodlands, TX or Tonawanda, NY. You will create control narratives, IO Indexes, and operator graphics for DCS/PLC/BMS and lead complex control strategies including MPC.

You will participate in acceptance tests, commissioning, and safety lifecycle processes while coordinating with vendors and contractors.

Qualifications

A B.S. in Engineering is required as listed.
7+ years of experience in process industry; Texas PE license is a plus.
Expert level experience in software programming and configuration, operator HMI, BOMs, and control network architecture for specified platforms.
Experience with SCADA platforms such as GE Intellution iFIX or equivalent.
Willingness to travel 15–20% to support projects and site tasks.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute control systems for large industrial facilities.
Develop control narratives, IO Index, cause and effects, control logic, and operator graphics for DCS, PLC, and BMS systems.
Implement complex control strategies including MPC and turbomachinery controls.
Attend and conduct Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests; support commissioning and startup activities.
Configure third-party device endpoints via Modbus, Ethernet/IP, or Profibus.
Participate in HAZOP, LOPA, and IEC 61511 safety lifecycle processes.
Coordinate interfaces between vendors and engineering contractors.
Manage project deliverables using internal and external resources and promote global workshare partnerships.
Prepare key quantities and estimates of control systems for capital projects.
