Job summary

Linde plc is seeking an experienced engineer to support process control, automation, instrumentation, and industrial networking across world-scale air separation facilities. Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5–7 years in process control, automation, instrumentation, or industrial networking.
  • Experience with industrial automation networks and protocols.
  • Understanding of continuous-process manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with PLC-based control systems in real-time production environments.
  • Knowledge of air separation or related industrial gas processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support process control, automation, instrumentation, and industrial networking across air separation facilities.
  • Ensure reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of control system infrastructure and field instrumentation.
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for control system hardware, software, and networks.
  • Troubleshoot control and automation issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Manage alarm systems and support preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Execute small-scale engineering projects from concept and design through commissioning.
  • Develop and improve control system applications, standards, and best practices.
  • Develop practical, cost-effective solutions in compliance with company standards and policies.
  • Provide training and technical support to operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Support high-availability systems with redundant controllers, networks, and remote I/O architectures.
  • Participate in off-hours and holiday support as required.
  • Travel approximately 10–25% as needed.

Job description

  • You will support process control, automation, instrumentation, and industrial networking systems across world-scale air separation facilities
  • Ensure the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of control system infrastructure and field instrumentation
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for control system hardware, software, industrial networks, and instrumentation

  • Execute small-scale engineering projects from concept and design through implementation and commissioning
  • Develop and improve control system applications, standards, and best practices
  • Develop practical, cost-effective solutions in compliance with company standards and policies
  • And you will provide training and technical support to operations and maintenance personnel
  • Support high-availability systems, including redundant controllers, networks, and remote I/O architectures

What makes you great
  • You have an Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of five to seven (5–7) years of relevant experience in process control, automation, instrumentation, or industrial networking
  • Experience with industrial automation networks, including networking protocols, switches, and systems
  • Understand continuous-process manufacturing environments
  • You have experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix systems and redundant network architectures
  • Proficient in interpreting P&ID drawings and electrical schematics
  • Strong background in instrumentation and control devices, including valves, analyzers, sensors, and control panels
  • Experience supporting PLC-based control systems in real-time production environments with advanced troubleshooting of process control and automation systems, preferred
  • Knowledge of air separation or related industrial gas processes, preferred
  • Familiarity with Siemens control systems, Wonderware, and GE iFIX, preferred
  • Industrial networking expertise, including LAN/WAN infrastructure, routers, Stratix switch configuration, and highly available systems with redundant networks and processors, preferred
