Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a Principal Control Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership for design, implementation, and verification of non-safety industrial control systems on global projects.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience, deep knowledge of PLC/DCS/SCADA platforms, and a proven track record in requirements, testing, and problem resolution. The role is hybrid, based in Cranberry, PA, with up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (computer, electrical, mechanical, nuclear, controls, or related).
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in industrial control systems engineering or related field.
• Demonstrated technical leadership of complex control system projects across lifecycle.
• Experience leading root-cause investigations involving multiple functional areas, suppliers, or customers.
• Experience developing and managing requirements and verification/validation activities in regulated environments.
• Advanced proficiency with engineering documentation (P&IDs, loop diagrams, system architecture, interface specs).

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, implementation, integration, and verification of complex control system solutions.
• Define requirements and design approaches across multiple scopes; resolve ambiguities.
• Develop and approve control strategies, HMI functionality, networks, and interfaces.
• Lead testing strategies: factory acceptance, system-level, and commissioning support.
• Mentor engineers and promote standardization and continuous improvement.
