Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in Cranberry Township, PA, is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to design, implement and verify non-safety industrial control systems for greenfield and brownfield projects worldwide.

The role targets engineers with 7–10 years of experience, either hardware or software leaning, who will collaborate with software, hardware, testing, cybersecurity and field teams to deliver reliable, secure control solutions in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in industrial control systems engineering or closely related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Nuclear Engineering is required.
• Experience with one or more PLC, DCS, or industrial control system platforms.
• Depth in either hardware design or software development for control systems.
• Experience with requirements development and verification/validation in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement industrial control system solutions in accordance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
• Decompose and interpret system-level requirements into control system designs within a defined functional scope.
• Develop control strategies, control logic, cabinet layouts and HMI functionalities using standard platforms and tools.
• Specify and integrate control system components (controllers, IO, networks, power distribution, interfaces).
• Develop and review engineering documentation, specifications, and procedures for the control system lifecycle.
• Plan and execute verification and validation activities including type tests and factory acceptance tests.
• Perform analyses such as software hazard analyses and FMEAs as applicable.
• Serve as technical contact for assigned control system scope on projects; mentor juniors.
