Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, IL seeks a Technical Regulatory Compliance Engineering Specialist to lead safety and compliance efforts for products and processes. You will contribute to enterprise regulatory teams and support design groups across the business.

This onsite role requires engaging with internal teams, suppliers, and customers, performing risk assessments, and aligning with international standards to drive safety and efficiency. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Agricultural, or Controls Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Experience with machinery functional safety standards is preferred.
• Ability to interpret international standards and perform safety analyses.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide Control System Functional Safety and Machinery Product Safety Risk Assessment support.
• Contribute to Enterprise regulatory compliance and safety teams and committees.
• Collaborate with engineering design teams, suppliers and customers on regulatory needs.
• Perform safety reviews, risk assessments, and design reviews for complex systems.
• Develop training, audit hardware/software, and improve safety processes.
• Support cross‑functional programs to improve efficiency and compliance.
