Job summary

Grand River Dam Authority in Oklahoma is seeking a Senior Technician for Operations to monitor and control a dual-fuel power plant from the Control Room. The role involves startup/shutdown procedures, field support, and adherence to safety and environmental regulations.

Candidates should have a Plant Operator IV qualification, extensive power plant experience, and strong communication skills. The position requires 12-hour rotating shifts and offers a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Plant Operator IV qualification is mandatory.
• Gas turbine and/or coal experience is desirable.
• Minimum of six years operating experience in a power plant or similar setting; one year in Control Room preferred.
• Knowledge of gas/steam turbine operations, piping & instrument schematics, and process controls.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor a power generation facility from the Control Room, initiating start-up and shutdown procedures.
• Coordinate operations and maintenance with on-site technicians under supervision.
• Read meters and gauges to verify operating conditions and log data.
• Maintain records and participate in CMMS-based maintenance activities.
• Follow safety, regulatory, and environmental procedures; support field technicians as needed.
