Job summary

Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA) in Chouteau, OK seeks a Technician Senior – Operations (Control Room Operator) to monitor and control a dual-plant facility from the Control Room, ensuring safe startup, operation, and shutdown of a combined cycle and coal-fired plant.

You will read meters, coordinate with on-site teams, and ensure compliance with CMMS, safety, and environmental regulations while maintaining logs and responding to alarms.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in a technical field is desirable.
• Minimum of six years operatinal experience in a power plant or similar setting.
• Plant Operator IV qualification is required for internal candidates or must be obtained within six months for external hires.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor a dual-plant facility from the Control Room, ensuring safe startup, operation, and shutdown.
• Read meters and instruments to verify operating conditions and record essential data.
• Coordinate with on-site operators/technicians and follow CMMS procedures for maintenance.
• Maintain logs, report abnormal conditions, and support maintenance during overhaul periods.
• Adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements and assist with Lockout/Tagout and equipment identification.
