Job summary

Express Employment Professionals-Farmingdale, NY seeks a Senior Control Systems Engineer to lead the in-house Control Panel Shop. You will design and fabricate panels, program PLCs/HMIs, select components, and coordinate with Sales to grow panel revenue.

Strong leadership and UL 508A knowledge are essential. Responsibilities include daily shop management, client support, and mentoring technicians, with SAP usage for operations and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical for control system design.
• Hands-on experience designing, assembling and testing industrial control panels.
• Programming PLCs and HMIs; experience with VFD setup and testing.
• Familiarity with UL 508A standards and certified panel shop processes.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations in the Control Panel Shop for panel fabrication.
• Design and draft small industrial control systems using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Select, specify, and procure components for panel builds.
• Partner with Sales to develop opportunities and drive panel shop revenue.
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs for control applications.
• Factory testing of controls and panels to ensure standards compliance.
• Ensure all panels meet UL 508A requirements.
• Provide technical support to customers via phone and on-site visits.
• Supervise, mentor, and support Panel Shop Technicians.
• Use Word/Excel for documentation and reporting.
• Utilize SAP for sales, procurement, production orders and inventory.
