Job summary:
You will be responsible for controls engineering project requirements involving control system design, control panel design, PLC & DCS programming, instrumentation, check-out support, and start-up assistance.
Major Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and implements control system (logic software and hardware) to meet process system requirements.
- Develops schematics detailing control system configuration and wiring, and design equipment panel layouts on AutoCAD software.
- Develop Sequence of Operation document detailing control strategies for the process under control. Lead design reviews with customer for review and approval of design documents.
- Work at customer site to perform the system checkout and start-up of the integrated control system.
- Develop the final record system documentation and provide system training to the customer.
- You will be working on automation and control system integration projects for clients across multiple industries including manufacturing production lines and data center building automation.
- Act as technical lead on projects and guide lower-level engineers and technicians.
- Act as Project Manager on smaller projects ranging from $50K to $250K, including:
- Developing and executing implementation plans for the project.
- Assigning work to meet overall project deadlines.
- Ensuring all project team members understand the scope of responsibilities.
- Developing schedules for W-M and customer requirements.
- Evaluating progress and detailing changes.
- Handling all purchasing and subcontractor requirements.
- Developing costs and proposing change orders to contract scope.
Education
BS in Engineering required (Electrical Engineering preferred).
Experience
10+ years of experience in:
- Control systems, components, logic programming, instrumentation, controls design, SCADA (e.g., Rockwell, Inductive Automation, AVEVA Wonderware), and PLC systems (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens). Experience with DeltaV, AutoCAD, Fanuc, Keyence/Cognex Vision Systems is also desired.
- Experience in Semiconductor or Life Sciences industries is required; other industry experience of interest includes Battery EV/EV and Data Center automation.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate with team members, subcontractors, and clients.
- Ability to travel up to 35%.
