Job summary

MoveAtech Group is recruiting a Senior Controls Engineer to support the commissioning and integration of advanced automated manufacturing systems for a major industrial project in Asheville, North Carolina.

This hands-on, customer-facing role is suited to an experienced controls professional who enjoys commissioning new equipment, troubleshooting automation systems, and delivering successful project outcomes for end clients.

Qualifications

• FANUC robot programming or troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with commissioning, integration or machine builds.
• Ability to troubleshoot controls independently.
• Excellent communication skills working directly with customers.
• Contract through December 2026 with possible extension.
• Approximately 45–55 hours per week.
• US Citizenship required due to project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Program, troubleshoot and modify PLCs on Allen Bradley platforms.
• Support commissioning and start-up of automated equipment.
• Work with FANUC robots in production environments.
• Interface with customers to resolve issues and ensure delivery.
• Develop and maintain controls software and documentation.
• Provide technical support and training as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• PLC programming, troubleshooting and modifications using Allen Bradley platforms.
• Support the commissioning and start-up of automated manufacturing equipment.
• Work with FANUC robotic systems in production environments.
• Interface directly with customers to resolve technical issues and support project delivery.
• Develop and maintain controls software and machine documentation.
• Provide technical support and training where required.

Required Experience

• FANUC robot programming or troubleshooting experience.
• Previous commissioning, integration or machine build experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot controls and automation systems independently.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with customers.
• Contract expected to run through December 2026 with potential for extension.
• Approximately 45-55 hours per week available.
• Rate: Circa $100/hour for the right candidate.
• US Citizenship required due to project requirements.
