Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs and ControlLogix platforms.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial automation.

Responsibilities

North Carolina (Greater Charlotte Area) Up to $110,000 Base Salary + Bonus + Benefits + Relocation Assistance

A global manufacturing organization is seeking a Controls Engineer to join its engineering team at a highly automated production facility in the Greater Charlotte area.

This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of automation and controls initiatives, supporting both day-to-day manufacturing operations and long-term capital improvement projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing production processes, improving equipment performance, and driving automation improvements across the facility.

Responsibilities
  • Program, troubleshoot, and optimize Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC systems
  • Support ControlLogix-based manufacturing processes
  • Maintain and improve HMI and SCADA applications
  • Lead and support automation, controls, and process improvement projects
  • Assist with equipment integration and startup activities
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues to minimize downtime
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to drive manufacturing performance

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs and ControlLogix platforms
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and control drawings
  • Experience supporting industrial control systems, motor controls, VFDs, sensors, and instrumentation
  • Knowledge of HMI and SCADA systems
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving equipment and production issues to minimize downtime
  • Understanding of industrial electrical systems including 24VDC, 120VAC, and 480VAC applications
  • Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment and production processes
  • Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting abilities
