Job summary

April Quest is seeking a Controls & Automation Engineer to join a specialist engineering team in Holly Springs, North Caolina, on a 12-month contract. The role focuses on design, development and commissioning of complex automated manufacturing systems for the pharmaceutical industry.

You will develop Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLC programs, create HMIs/SCADA interfaces, and ensure systems meet GMP/GAMP requirements while collaborating with cross-disciplinary engineers to deliver robust automation

Qualifications

• Experience with ControlLogix and/or CompactLogix.
• HMI or SCADA development.
• Industrial communication networks such as EtherNet/IP.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, biotechnology or another highly regulated manufacturing environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Developing and programming Rockwell / Allen-Bradley PLC systems.
• Developing HMI and SCADA applications.
• Designing control strategies for complex automated machinery and manufacturing processes.
• Producing functional design specifications and software documentation.
• PLC/HMI testing and debugging.
• Commissioning automated systems on customer sites.
• Fault finding and optimisation of control systems.
• Working closely with electrical, mechanical, process and validation engineers.
• Delivering systems in accordance with pharmaceutical industry standards and GMP / GAMP requirements.

We are looking for an experienced Controls & Automation Engineer to join a specialist engineering team to deliver complex automated manufacturing systems for the pharmaceutical industry.

This is an excellent and exciting project for an engineer with strong Rockwell / Allen-Bradley PLC programming experience who enjoys developing sophisticated automation solutions from concept and software development through to commissioning and validation.

The Role:

As a Controls & Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development and commissioning of control systems used within complex pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. You will a vital role in delivering equipment used to save everyday lives!

Your responsibilities will include:
