Job summary

Rohde & Schwarz seeks a Senior Contracts/Subcontracts Administrator specializing in U.S. government contracts to join our North American headquarters in Columbia, Maryland. You will advise senior leadership and provide guidance to program personnel, partnering closely with the VP of Legal & Contracts.

Your role covers AMS clause expertise, contract negotiations, risk assessment, and contract performance oversight to ensure customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience as a contracts administrator for U.S. Government programs.
  • Expert knowledge of FAA AMS contract clauses.
  • Experience negotiating with FAA Contracting Officer.
  • US Persons capable of obtaining Public Trust.

Responsibilities

  • Provide SME for U.S. Government contracts, including AMS clauses.
  • Support proposal content, review SOWs, and participate in team reviews.
  • Advise on contractual and operational risks and mitigation options.
  • Negotiate customer orders and contract modifications.
  • Manage contracts, deliverables, deadlines, terms, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate contract files and ensure compliance with directives.

Recently named by Newsweek as one of the Best American Mid-Sized Workplaces in 2026, Rohde & Schwarz is seeking a Senior Contracts/Subcontracts Administrator specializing in U.S. government contracts to work at our North American headquarters in Columbia, Maryland. This position is responsible for providing contractual support to RSNA’s government business for the sale and distribution of Rohde & Schwarz’s voice communication systems. This role will report to the program manager and be supported by the VP of Legal & Contracts. This person will advise senior leadership and will work with and provide guidance to program personnel.

Your tasks
  • Provide subject matter expertise for U.S. Government contracts, including the FAA’s Acquisition Management System (AMS) contract clauses.
  • Assist program manager to prepare, analyze and manage proposal content, review the scope of work, and participate in team reviews.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contractual and operational risks and options for mitigation.
  • Negotiate customer orders and contract modifications including SOWs, engineering change proposals, clauses or provisions, etc.
  • Manage contracts, deliverables, deadlines, contract terms and conditions while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare customer communications, including program review meetings, business correspondence, in-person meetings, and coordinating with functional departments to ensure contract performance.
  • Maintain accurate and complete contract files.
  • Ensure compliance with Global Directives, corporate policies, contract provisions and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with program team members to ensure accuracy and completeness from a technical perspective.
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ progressive experience as a contracts administrator for U.S. Government programs.
  • Expert knowledge of FAA’s Acquisition Management System (AMS) contract clauses.
  • Recent experience providing contract management support for an FAA program, including negotiating with the FAA’s Contracting Officer.
  • Ability to work in a conscientious, consistent and thorough manner with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Negotiator who seeks to resolve different perspectives or matters of dispute by discovering shared interests and finding mutually acceptable solutions.
  • Takes initiative to deal with situations and issues proactively and persistently, seizing opportunities that arise.
  • Able to adapt in order to work effectively in ambiguous or changing situations, and with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Listens and communicates openly, honestly, and respectfully with different audiences, promoting dialogue and building consensus.
  • Ability to solve problems analytically that leads to create and pragmatic solutions to business challenges.
  • External candidates must be US Persons capable of obtaining Public Trust Clearance
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.
  • Proficient use of software platforms (i.e., Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Deltek, SAP) as needed to perform tasks.
  • Preferred: NCMA Certification

The total compensation for this position is $76K-$115K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
