Job summary

Rohde & Schwarz in Frederick, MD seeks an experienced Systems Engineering Manager to lead a multi-product, cross-functional team and translate high-level customer needs into precise design requirements that drive successful outcomes.

You will collaborate with Sales, PM, Production, and product engineering teams in the US and Europe, oversee presales, design, integration, and deployment of monitoring systems, and deliver clear technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, CS, or related field.
• Strong RF, spectrum monitoring and analysis background.
• Experience with systems for critical infrastructure customers.
• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 30% and work with cross-border teams.
• U.S. citizen capable of obtaining a US government clearance.

• Participate in communication with customers and R&S product design team.
• Work closely with the product engineering teams based in Europe and North America.

Recently named by Newsweek as one of the Best American Mid-Sized Workplaces in 2026, Rohde & Schwarz is seeking an experienced Systems Engineering Manager to support our growing communications system business within the technology systems market. This new position will lead a dynamic team of engineers across multiple product segments, and will play a critical role in gathering, analyzing, and translating customer needs into product design requirements that drive successful outcomes. Based from our new facility in Frederick, MD this role will closely collaborate with our product engineering colleagues here in the US as well as Europe.

Your tasks

Your Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or relevant engineering degree.
• Background in RF, spectrum monitoring, and spectrum analysis
• Experience with systems for critical infrastructure customers.
• Proficient in relevant business tools including MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint.
• Experience with requirement management processes and tools.
• Good technical writing skills.
• Good communication and customer interface skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to operate with considerable autonomy and minimal supervision.
• Ability to travel throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, up to 30%.
• In order to be considered, candidates must be a US citizen capable of receiving a US Government security clearance.

The total compensation for this position is $165K-$215K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
