Job summary

Solomon Page seeks a Senior Contracts Paralegal in Charlotte, NC to support our banking association and payments client’s commercial contracting workflow. You will draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad set of agreements, including cloud, software, and AI-related contracts, while guiding junior team members.

You will collaborate with Procurement, Information Security, Technology, Finance, Compliance, and Risk Management to improve processes, templates, and playbooks, ensuring governance

Qualifications

• Must have contract negotiation experience.
• Bachelor's degree required, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible paralegal experience in contracts in-house or in a major law firm.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing complex commercial contracts (cloud, software, vendor, licensing, confidentiality, procurement).
• Knowledge of contract risk, privacy, cybersecurity, information security, cloud services, and AI-related terms.
• Familiarity with AI tools and appropriate use in legal work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements.
• Negotiate contract terms with vendors and third parties within guidelines.
• Review cloud services, SaaS, software, and AI-related agreements from a legal perspective.
• Collaborate with Procurement, IT, Finance, Compliance, Risk Management, and business teams.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, clause libraries, and negotiation playbooks.
• Provide guidance to paralegals on contract negotiations to ensure consistency.
• Assist attorneys with legal research and regulatory requests.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and external service providers.
• Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce cycle times.
