The Position

As a Senior Contracts Manager at Signifyd, you play an integral part of the Legal team responsible for reviewing and negotiating merchant and vendor agreements, managing systems and processes, and helping build a strong collaborative relationship with our global sales teams and other key cross-functional teams. In addition, you will be a key part of a cross-functional team designing policies and optimizing systems as we continue to scale. This is a non-attorney role.

You will work with the RevOps, Deal Desk, and other cross-functional teams to find innovative ways to simplify our operating model and improve our processes. You will advise on issues and risk in alignment with our commercial, corporate and strategic objectives for the global business. The contracts you will work on can be complex which require speed, business savviness and an appropriate level of autonomy and judgement.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned individual who can appropriately balance business objectives and legal considerations. You should enjoy close collaboration with legal and non-legal colleagues, have a positive, can-do attitude and be a creative problem solver.

This position can be based anywhere in the US, either fully remote or in one of our offices in San Jose, Seattle, Denver or NYC.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Independently review, draft and negotiate a variety of sales and vendor contracts, including MSAs, SOWs, and NDAs.
  • Manage the contract lifecycle by creating from intake to execution, including maintaining and managing contract and electronic databases.
  • Successfully advise and educate sales teams and other internal stakeholders on deal processes and providing ongoing guidance and coordination throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain policies and standard operating procedures in the legal/contracting processes.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to continually identify opportunities to accelerate contract closure by enhancing contract templates, responding to questions in the most effective way, and developing contracting policies and contract escalations guidelines.
  • Be a champion for a better, faster and simpler way of doing things.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5+ years’ experience negotiating complex software or SaaS agreements and contracts involving security and privacy issues.
  • Experience managing time sensitive, complex commercial contract processes and administration.
  • Familiarity with Ironclad, Zip, Salesforce, or other CLM tools.
  • Self-starter who works with minimal supervision and integrity while also being a strong team player.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Additional qualifications:

  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is helpful but is not required.
