Job summary

Auburn University is seeking an Accountant III to serve as the accounting liaison for assigned personnel within Central Business and Finance, with emphasis on Contracts and Grants Accounting, journal entries, reporting, budget analysis, and audit/reconciliation for School of Fisheries accounts.

You will be the primary contact for contracts and grants for a group of Principal Investigators, coordinating with the PI to review budgets, monitor balances, perform reconciliations, and process journal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred with 4 years accounting services experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes awards, subcontracts, and Fisheries accounts for CFR200 compliance, budgets, and payrolls.
• Reconciles accounts and reviews Monthly Account Balance Sheets with PIs to avoid over-spending and payroll errors.
• Releases and validates Effort Certification; handles Salary Wage transfers and SWT issue resolution with PIs.
• Reconciles accounts and processes Journal Vouchers (DEC, Budget Transfers, BLT, IDCR).
• Approves staff EPAFs/PO/PSC/Reports/Travel reimbursements/Invoices.
