Job summary

ARCO is seeking a Contract Specialist to support a fast-paced legal team within a family of construction companies. This role focuses on reviewing and negotiating subcontracts and vendor agreements, guiding project managers on insurance and contractual obligations, and mitigating risks arising from contract changes.

The ideal candidate has a legal background and strong relationship-building and communication skills.

Qualifications

5+ years in contract administration or related role.
Legal background (JD or paralegal) with practical construction experience.
Knowledge of contract law and procurement policies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to build relationships with project managers, legal and finance teams, and vendors.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Review and negotiate subcontracts and other vendor agreements, ensuring alignment with internal policies and procedures.
Advise Project Managers on insurance and contractual obligations.
Maintain a fluent understanding of standard downstream forms.
Collaborate with controllers and operations stakeholders.
Suggest edits to downstream forms and implement changes under leadership.
Interpret contract provisions to resolve subcontractor questions.
Identify and analyze risks from contract changes.
