Job summary

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is seeking a Contract Administrator III in Gaithersburg, MD to lead end-to-end procurements supporting the region’s transit system.

You will manage the complete contract life cycle—from request receipt to close-out—advise internal customers, and mentor junior staff while negotiating complex agreements and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of the government procurement lifecycle.
• Ability to analyze contracts, pricing, and risk.
• Experience with bid protests and supplier negotiations.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local procurement regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire contract life cycle from proposal to close-out.
• Plan the procurement process from needs receipt through solicitation, negotiation, award, administration and close-out.
• Lead the award process including documentation, bids/proposals, evaluation, and Board action.
• Advise customers on contract type and source selection.
• Negotiate change orders and claims; mentor junior Contract Administrators.
