Amazon Books Legal is seeking a strategic legal advisor to support content acquisition teams, negotiating and drafting licensing agreements with major publishers for ebook and print formats. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver practical, business-minded legal guidance and help shape go-to-market strategies, including advising on AI-powered features.

The role requires strong judgment, deep legal expertise in media licensing, and the ability to navigate fast-paced environments

Qualifications

5+ years of legal experience.
Juris Doctor and bar admission in at least one state.
Experience in IP or content licensing.
Experience in digital media, publishing, or subscription services.
Experience at a corporate law firm.
Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary legal counsel for content acquisition teams.
Provide legal guidance on product development, pricing, and regulatory compliance.
Negotiate and draft content licensing and purchase agreements.
Manage vendor disputes; coordinate with outside counsel and internal litigation teams.
Partner with cross-functional teams on go-to-market strategies.
Advise on AI-powered features.
