BCD Meetings & Events in Mexico City is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage general accounting, monthly closing, and reconciliations, ensuring timely, accurate financial records.

You will support audits, interact with cross-functional teams, and drive process improvements in accounting and intercompany activities while maintaining IFRS/US GAAP awareness.

Fluency in English and Spanish, strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in general accounting.
• Experience in monthly accounting closing, reconciliations and account analysis.
• Indispensable use of SAP and Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP desirable.
• Treasury experience and supervision of personnel desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accounting close and financial records.
• Prepare and record monthly accounting entries.
• Support and follow up on the monthly accounting closing process.
• Ensure timely compliance with the activities of the month-end checklist.
• Perform analysis of accounting accounts and variations.
• Reconciliations and accounting control.
• Prepare balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner.
• Follow up on pending items and propose corrective actions.
• Manage and reconcile intercompany operations.
• Promote improvements to streamline and automate reconciliation processes.
• Financial and operational support.
• Support the accounting team in addressing operational and technical issues.
• Review processes related to accounts payable.
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Prepare reports, analyses and ad hoc investigations for management and management.
• Provide support during internal, external and intermediate audits.
• Carry out additional activities related to the accounting and financial area.
• Continuous improvement and leadership
• Identify opportunities to optimize processes and reduce costs.
• Contribute to the fulfillment of the financial objectives of the area.
• Support in the supervision and accompaniment of accounting personnel, when required.
