Spanish Broadcasting Systems (SBS) seeks a Senior Accountant to analyze complex financial reports and prepare the company’s financial statements. The role ensures accuracy of transactions, maintains ledgers, and supports compliance with US GAAP and SOX controls.

The ideal candidate will lead near-term close activities, collaborate with auditors, and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls and financial reporting across SBS’s US operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting or closely related field.
• Progressive accounting experience in a corporate setting (4+ years).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial analysis skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close tasks, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Analyze payrolls, benefits, commissions, barter, invoices, and vendor payments for posting.
• Prepare general ledger entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Monitor compliance with US GAAP and SOX controls.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and schedules.
• Identify process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
