Job summary

Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC in Minneapolis seeks a Consumer Sector Equity Analyst to conduct fundamental research across Consumer Discretionary and Consumer Staples, including financial modeling, earnings analysis, valuation, and industry trend assessment.

You will deliver actionable investment recommendations and support portfolio construction while collaborating with portfolio managers and advisors. In-office collaboration is emphasized, with four days onsite and one day remote weekly.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in equity research in the consumer sector or related investment function.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business; MBA or CFA preferred.
• Applicable securities licenses or registrations, or ability to obtain licensing within a timeframe.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, scenario analysis, and investment recommendation capabilities.
• Experience in buy-side, sell-side, registered investment advisor, or institutional environments preferred.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth fundamental research on assigned sectors, industries, and companies, including financial analysis, valuation, earnings assessment, and investment thesis development.
• Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, price targets, risk assessments, and investment recommendations for portfolio construction.
• Partner with portfolio managers and investment leadership to provide timely insights on holdings and recommendations.
• Develop high-quality research reports, earnings updates, sector commentary, and presentations for internal stakeholders and advisors.
• Support advisor engagement activities, education events, webinars, and due diligence discussions.
• Maintain strong documentation, governance, and compliance across all research activities.
