Milliman in Boston/Wakefield, MA is seeking an Associate Actuary to drive complex actuarial projects and deliver high-quality analyses for clients across North America. You will work autonomously and with project teams, performing data manipulation in Excel and leveraging R for statistical modeling.

The role emphasizes collaboration with analysts and principals, with opportunities to pursue CAS fellowship and professional growth.

Qualifications

• ACAS credential by the time of application.
• Up to 10 years of professional actuarial full-time work experience in pricing, reserving, predictive modeling, capital modeling, ERM, or reinsurance topics.
• Bachelor's degree with quantitative coursework in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, etc.
• Strong MS Excel and Word skills.
• Mastery of R for statistical modeling.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the execution of projects, ad hoc or longer-term.
• Write reports and support client communication.
• Direct interaction with client and vendor partners (broker, captive manager, auditor).
• Direct, train and guide Actuarial Analysts (data cleaning, checking).
• Comply with internal QC, risk management, and peer-review guidelines.
• Participate in marketing opportunities including publications and presentations.
• Present findings to peers, project managers, and client relationship managers.
• Draft written reports and exhibits, and prepare internal/external correspondence.
