Verdantas LLC in Southern California, Rancho Cucamonga, seeks an experienced Sr. Consultant, Geologist for a part-time, flex role combining leadership and technical expertise.

Responsibilities include developing client base in hydro/power market, mentoring staff, managing budgets, and ensuring QA/QC and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate holds BS/MS in Geology, PG license, 20+ years of geotechnical consulting, travel readiness, and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • BS and/or MS degree in Geology or related Earth Science.
  • Professional Geologist (PG) license required, Engineering Geologist (CEG) license preferred.
  • 20+ years of professional geotechnical consulting experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and judgment skills.
  • Working knowledge of southern and central California geology related to hydro power and generation facilities.
  • Proficiency in trenching/drilling techniques, logging and sampling of soil/bedrock and geologic mapping.
  • Willingness to travel to sites in southern and central California.
  • Experience managing large geotechnical projects including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Proficiency in geophysical surveys, remote sensing, or GIS applications.

We are seeking an experienced and talented Sr. Consultant, Geologist to join our southern California team in our Rancho Cucamonga office. This is a part-time, flex position.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop client base in the hydro/generation power market.
  • Effectively communicate/coordinate/interact with senior level geologists, engineers, administrative staff and clients.
  • Prepare scope of work and fee estimate proposals and write technical reports.
  • Mentor/direct staff in completion of field/office work.
  • Manage project budgets.
  • Provide leadership in technical assessments, ensuring the application of advanced geological principles and methodologies.
  • Contribute to strategic planning initiatives by providing geological expertise and insights into potential growth areas or emerging trends in the industry.
  • Oversee QA/QC processes for technical reports and deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Ensure projects comply with relevant environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
Qualifications:
  • BS and/or MS degree in Geology or related Earth Science.
  • Professional Geologist (PG) required, Engineering Geologist (CEG) license preferred.
  • 20+ years professional geotechnical consulting experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal/written communication, organizational, analytical and judgment skills.
  • Working knowledge of southern and central California geology as it relates to hydro power and power generation facilities.
  • Proficient in trenching/drilling techniques, logging and sampling of soil/bedrock and geologic mapping.
  • Availability to travel to job sites in southern and central California.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale geotechnical projects from inception to completion, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Proficiency in advanced field techniques such as geophysical surveys, remote sensing, or GIS applications, enhancing project efficiency and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to mentor a team of geologists and technical staff, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.

Salary Range: $80.00-$81.75/hour
