The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with ERP systems. CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior-level responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting best practices.
• Experience leading month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• CPA designation or candidacy strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review complex journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses.
• Support financial statement preparation and GAAP compliance.
• Analyze financial data, variances, trends, and key drivers.
• Assist with ERP implementations and process improvement initiatives.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and organizational changes.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify operational efficiencies and internal controls.
• Support external audits and coordinate responses to audit requests.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and share accounting best practices.
• Deliver actionable recommendations on special projects.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Consultant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled accounting professional who enjoys solving complex business challenges, partnering with leadership teams, and making an immediate impact within dynamic environments.

As the Senior Accounting Consultant, you will provide accounting and financial expertise to support critical business initiatives, month-end close processes, financial reporting, system implementations, process improvements, and other special projects.

Responsibilities

• Leading month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Preparing and reviewing complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses
• Supporting financial statement preparation and ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Analyzing financial data and investigating variances, trends, and key business drivers
• Assisting with ERP implementations, upgrades, conversions, and process improvement initiatives
• Providing accounting support for mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and organizational changes
• Collaborating with leadership teams to identify and implement operational efficiencies and internal controls
• Supporting external audits and coordinating responses to audit requests
• Mentoring junior accounting staff and serving as a subject matter expert on accounting best practices
• Managing special projects and delivering actionable recommendations to stakeholders

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior-level responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting best practices
• Experience leading month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookup functions, and financial analysis tools
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms
• CPA designation or CPA candidacy strongly preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
