Job summary

Crossland Heavy Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead daily coordination and direction on complex heavy civil projects in Omaha, NE.

The role emphasizes pre-planning, safety, quality control, and proactive cost management across mechanical, pipe, dirt, and concrete work. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in heavy civil construction, proven leadership, and a track record of developing personnel.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (Preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in heavy civil or water/wastewater treatment plant construction
• Proven experience managing large, complex construction projects
• Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, sequencing, and field operations.
• Demonstrated leadership experience developing Superintendents and field personnel (Preferred).
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and production management
• OSHA 30 certification (Preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Superintendents and Superintendents to manage division manpower, ensuring efficient allocation and transfer of personnel across jobsites as needed.
• Assess overall division manpower to identify hiring needs, then collaborate with the local HR assistant to specify the type and quantity of personnel required.
• Participate in bi‑weekly Teams meetings with the General Superintendent and Area Superintendents to provide updates on division manpower.
• Provide leadership in tracking and coordinating the schedules of Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Trade Superintendents, Senior Field Engineers and Field Engineers across all division projects.
• Monitor overall division workload and provide regular updates to the Division Manager, ensuring that sufficient work secured and resources remain fully utilized.
• Organize and lead an annual Superintendents meeting in collaboration with the Division Manager, ensuring alignment on goals, priorities and best practices.
• Attend intern outings and recruiting events, building relationships with interns and guiding them toward potential roles as Field Engineers.
• Project responsibilities take precedence over additional duties
