Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler I to oversee all planning and scheduling activities across projects. The role requires coordinating with field staff and management, ensuring compliance with planning standards, and leading a scheduling team.

You will mentor field personnel, drive collaboration, and participate in hiring decisions when needed. The position emphasizes proactive problem solving and delivering timely project schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field.
• Minimum of four years construction experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Active listening skills and effective communication, open to diverse input and feedback.
• Thorough knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, practices, and company software.
• Strong plan and specification reading, review, and interpretation skills.
• Working knowledge of 4D visual planning methodologies.
• Ability to travel may be required based on operating group.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities.
• Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct planning and scheduling activities.
• Ensure that corporate planning and schedule stands are implemented and that all project related activities comply.
• Provide oversight and supervision of scheduling team.
• Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and assistant superintendents.
• Establish and nurture teamwork environment.
• Ensure crews have resources and support.
• Provide work direction and performance evaluations.
• Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions if needed.
• Develop leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunities.
• Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program at project site.
• Manage open shop and union issues.
• Maintain relationships with all visitors to the site: customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, et al.
• Manage site work and logistics efficiently, providing suggestions for improvement.
• Other duties as assigned.
