Job summary

Element Consulting, a construction management firm based in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Senior Scheduler/Cost Engineer to lead complex project schedules for large construction programs in the Los Angeles area.

You will coordinate schedules, review contractor progress, analyze time impacts and change orders, perform cost analyses, and support cash flow projections with cost-loaded schedules. This role requires 10+ years of scheduling experience and a Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in project or program scheduling on large construction programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or other related field.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera Scheduling Software, MS Office Applications including Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of theories, principles and practices of cost engineering and scheduling.
• Experience with time impact analysis.
• Experience with construction claims and change orders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the preparation of project schedules based on defined project execution philosophies.
• Perform contractor schedule reviews for contract conformance and quality assurance.
• Evaluate contract change orders and amendments for impact on budget and schedule.
• Perform time impact analysis of project schedule delays and potential claims.
• Participate in change order negotiations.
• Perform Critical Path and Earned Value analyses.
• Identify schedule related problems and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct construction/project site visits for progress reporting.
• Review contractor’s schedule progress and present findings to management.
• Review and evaluate contractor recovery schedules.
• Perform cost analysis in support of design and construction phases.
• Analyze actual expenditures versus budget performance.
• Prepare cost loaded schedule to support cash flow projections.
• Understand, interpret and apply contracts, policies and procedures within Build LACCD guidelines.
