GlobalFoundries seeks an experienced Sr. Section Manager - Construction Safety for its Essex Junction, Vermont facility.

The role leads construction safety programs, conducts field audits, and partners with project stakeholders to promote safe work practices in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in construction safety, a safety-related degree, strong regulatory knowledge, and proven leadership for contractor teams.

Qualifications

• Education – bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Experience - Minimum 8 years of construction safety experience.
• Skills – Safety leadership, risk assessment and hazard recognition, contractor management, incident investigation, regulatory compliance, communication and influence, problem solving and accountability and integrity.

Responsabilités

• Promote and drive a strong site-wide safety culture through leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead and support development, implementation, and compliance of EHS& S programs and regulatory requirements including OSHA standards.
• Lead a team of Construction Safety Professionals (contractors) and partner with site leadership to identify hazards and implement controls.
• Conduct field inspections, audits, and safety assessments to ensure compliance and safe work practices.
• Review and approve safety documentation including JHAs, permits to work, and risk assessments.
• Investigate incidents and drive timely corrective actions and root-cause analysis.
• Analyze safety performance data to drive proactive improvements and operational excellence.
• Deliver safety training, orientations, and professional development to employees and contractors.
• Support site audits, management reviews, and industrial hygiene programs including exposure monitoring.
• Provide technical safety guidance for new equipment, tools, and construction projects.
• Participate in emergency response planning and ERT operations; support travel as needed.
• Maintain safety records and perform routine regulatory compliance tasks.
