Job summary

Gilbane Building is seeking a Safety Professional III to support safety efforts on a single project with >250 workforce or high hazard work. The role focuses on cultivating a strong safety culture, coordinating with contractors, and enforcing OSHA requirements.

You will lead safety planning, conduct routine inspections, and deliver training while ensuring all safety documentation is up to date and compliant. A proactive, collaborative leader is favored for this demanding construction environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety Management or Engineering preferred.
• 3-5 years of construction safety management experience.
• BCSP credential.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the Gilbane safety culture.
• Preplans contractor activities for safety through reviews, meetings, JHA review, etc.
• Ensures contractor safety submittals and compliance with safety plan.
• Maintains safety documentation and conducts SafetyNet inspections.
• Provides safety training to project teams on Gilbane, client, and OSHA requirements.
• Investigates accidents/near misses and completes required paperwork.
• Coaches and mentors less experienced team members.
