Granite Construction Company is seeking a Safety Specialist to administer the Safety and Health Management System for an assigned location. You will collaborate with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and medical facilities to ensure a safe work environment and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members, owner representatives, regulatory agencies, clinics, and medical facilities to maintain effective relationships.
• Promote engagement with the safety program and incident-prevention efforts to reduce at-risk behaviors.
• Assist in implementing safety programs to meet strategic goals.
• Perform and document inspections, observations, and audits to reduce incidents and protect employee health.
• Assist in safety meetings and training programs to improve hazard awareness.
• Support regulatory inspections and investigations to ensure compliance and protect company interests.
• Assist in developing and reviewing job hazard analyses to identify hazards and controls.
• Help document near-misses, incidents, and claims to preserve company interests.
• Conduct periodic checks to ensure corrective actions are completed and documented.
