Job summary

ARCO a Family of Construction Companies seeks a Director of Risk Management to lead the enterprise risk function. You will design and govern insurance programs, risk-financing strategies, and contractual risk transfer across the organization while partnering with executive leadership.

You will build and mentor a risk team, develop governance processes, and advise on strategic risk decisions affecting multiple projects and markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of progressive construction risk management and commercial insurance experience including insurance placement, renewals, claims governance, CCIP/OCIP, and contractual risk transfer.
• CRIS designation required; ARM, CPCU, or similar advanced designation preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of construction insurance coverage lines including CGL, WC, Builder's Risk, Excess/Umbrella, Professional Liability, Pollution/Environmental, Auto, Cyber, and D&O.
• Demonstrated people leadership experience—building, managing, and developing a risk team.
• Executive-level communication and negotiation skills to influence senior leadership, brokers, and carriers.

Responsibilities

• Own enterprise risk-management strategy across the family of companies and translate business objectives into risk programs.
• Lead design, placement, renewal, and stewardship of corporate and project insurance programs; manage broker RFPs and carrier relations.
• Set enterprise standards for contractual risk transfer and partner with Legal on complex positions.
• Own risk analysis and governance for major project pursuits and growth initiatives; lead project risk review protocols.
• Lead and develop the Risk team; scale risk services to support growth into new markets.
• Be the enterprise's senior risk advisor to the CEO and executive leadership on risk matters.
• Direct subcontractor prequalification and insurance-compliance frameworks; ensure consistent risk thresholds.
• Develop risk-management frameworks addressing supplier, subcontractor, and supply-chain exposures.
