Job summary

Matrix Service Company is seeking a Project Manager to direct multiple field projects of moderate risk and complexity. The role involves coordinating crafts, managing budgets and schedules, and guiding junior PMs in policy adherence.

Travel to project sites is required, with per diem provided per company policy. The PM will ensure safety, quality, and client satisfaction while pursuing new business opportunities in designated regions.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Mechanical, Civil or Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management; or combination of equivalent education and 10 years job-related experience if no degree
• 8+ years job-related experience, includes supervisory experience
• PMI Project Management Certification preferred
• Strong understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes and standards and their impact on project activities
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; good negotiation skills
• Strong knowledge of construction, design, finance and project management
• Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel
• Demonstrated ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performance
• Proven track record of bringing projects in on time, on schedule, within budget, and safely
• Ability to manage occasional heavy workloads with time sensitive deadlines, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting project objectives

Responsibilities

• Actively supports safety commitments and company core values
• Represents the company in client and project meetings
• Initiates and maintains liaison with clients to facilitate construction activities and resource planning
• Prepares or oversees complete project estimates with detailed review of specifications and drawings
• Plans, organises, and staffs field positions through department heads and project managers
• Supervises on-site field supervision to ensure work aligns with design, budget, and schedule
• Provides technical assistance and recommends construction methods and equipment
• Manages project profitability and billing/collections with clients
• Develops new business opportunities within client groups or geographic areas
• Travel to project sites as required; per diem provided for eligible assignments
